Windows 7 Pre-RTM Build 7137 98 Screenshot Gallery

Windows 7 Build 7137 is the latest interim development milestone of the next iteration of the Windows client that was leaked into the wild. While the build indeed provides confirmation that Windows 7 is moving toward the RTM milestone, it will not satisfy the hunger for the gold release of the operating system. Fact is that even as early as Beta Build 7000, Windows 7 feels ready for release. And while the Redmond-based company beat its own estimates for general availability, now pressing ahead for a pre-holiday (read mid-October 2009) launch, it is not about to rush the release of Windows Vista's successor. This even though, technically, Windows 7 Release Candidate Build 7100 is as close to RTM as possible.

“As you can imagine, our team is quite busy working through this next phase of Windows 7. We definitely appreciate the millions of downloads and installs of the Windows 7 RC. Things are going as we expect at this point. On a personal note, I wanted to thank all the folks who have been sending me mail. I’ve received a lot of kind words and support regarding the RC and quite a few people saying 'hurry up and just release it'. We outlined the steps we’re taking for this next milestone and aren’t going to rush things. We’ve got a lot of work for sure,” revealed Steven Sinofsky, Senior Vice President, Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group.

Sinofsky provided the update earlier this week. There isn't much there, but mentioning that everything is going as expected in fact means that Windows 7 is on track to being released to manufacturing and the to the public in the second half of this year. Microsoft is yet to discuss any official upcoming delivery deadlines, but will most likely do so later in the development of Windows 7 towards RTM. According to unconfirmed reports, the pricing for Windows 7, for example, will be unveiled to the public in mid-June 2009. I've said it before, and I'm willing to repeat it, it will be a mistake for Microsoft to price Windows 7 above Vista, no matter the quality gap between the two platforms.

Stick with the RC

Windows 7 Build 7137 brings nothing new to the table. At least not on the surface, because the product is evolving toward RTM. Testers that are currently using
Windows 7 RC Build 7100 should stick with that release. Users looking to get aboard the Windows 7 testing wagon should also download and install Windows 7 RC available from Microsoft. Using the activation product keys from the Redmond-based company, Widows 7 RC can be used until at least March 2010, at which time the operating system will start to shut down every two hours. Complete expiration will come on June 2010.

As Windows 7 Build 7137 (7137.0.090521-1745) was compiled on May 21, Microsoft has undoubtedly moved onward with producing interim builds of the platform. Still, users should be extremely careful when it comes down to accessing Windows 7 releases from torrent trackers or other illegal sources, as the risk is that the bits could be infested with malware. Always make sure to check SHA1 and MD5 information, and if the data is not available, then better not risk the download.

Even before
Windows 7 Build 7137 was leaked, there was chatter on a few forums built around Windows enthusiast communities related to leaked details of Build 7140. A screenshot allegedly from that release started circulating, and got picked up by a few blogs. That screenshot was fake. And there is no way of telling what exactly Windows 7 Build 7140 will bring to the table. But try and take reports about Windows 7 development milestones with a grain of salt, no matter where they originate.

At this point in time, unconfirmed reports indicate that Microsoft managed to take Windows 7 all the way to Build 7141. But as I have already said, this means nothing more than the software giant continues to produce interim builds of the next version of the Windows client, softening all the rough edges before the product is released to manufacturing.

Windows 7 Build 7138 Service Pack 1

One interim build of Windows 7 that manages to stand out from the crowd is 7138. Windows 7 Build 7138 comes with Service Pack 1 already installed according to information leaked by
Wzor. Both copies of the Windows 7 client Build 7138 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Build 7138 feature Service Pack 1 already installed. The full build string for both the client and the server version is 7138.winmain_win7ids_sp090523-2200.

No word from Microsoft on just what the new Windows 7 SP1 builds mean, but it is highly unlikely that the Redmond-based company has already debuted the building and testing of the first service pack for Windows 7. My best guess is that the software giant is simply testing the mechanism of integrating service packs into Windows 7, but it is nothing more than a guess. However, from the screenshots leaked in the wild, it appears that 7138.winmain_win7ids_sp090523-2200 is as real as it gets. Furthermore, it seems that Microsoft has moved as high as 7141.0.winmain_win7ids_sp.090528 with the Windows 7 builds containing service pack 1.

32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 (Release Candidate) RC Build 7100.0.090421-1700 is available for download

ACN Video Phones Bring the Future to Life

Just a few short years ago, had you mentioned the word iPod, very few people would’ve known what you were talking about. Now the technology is in tens of millions of homes and continuing to grow in popularity. Likewise, many feel we are witnessing a shift in the way we communicate and devices unfamiliar to people yesterday will be all the rage in no time. And the device getting all the attention is the video phone.

The video phone’s functionality is made possible by something almost every home already has: the Internet. The high-speed connection we rely on to bring information to our computer screens can also carry our voices over the line. The technology is called VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol. VoIP is the backbone of the latest breakthrough in telecommunications, digital phone service.

On its own, digital phone service sounds pretty appealing: unlimited calls, cheaper phone bills, great features and more. But combined with a video phone, digital phone service looks amazing. Video phones let users see one another rather than simply hearing each other’s voice on the line. Though it may sound, or look, too good to be true, most analysts agree that video phones will be present in the majority of households in the very near future.

One company is already making strides in bringing this futuristic technology to our everyday lives. ACN, the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications company, is also one of the world’s largest distributor of video phones. The company got started ahead of the curve and is poised to be a pivotal player in the video phone market as these devices become more commonplace.

“Seeing the person you are talking to on the phone is no longer a technology of the future,” said Robert Stevanovski, Chairman and Co-founder of ACN. “The video phone is something consumers are taking advantage of right now and it has become an integral focus of our company over the past few years. We believe that video phones will become just as common in households as we have seen before with other recent technological advancements, such as high-speed internet, mobile phones and iPods.”

As evidence of their commitment to the success of video phones, ACN has built its own VoIP network across the U.S. and Europe to support its video phone and digital phone service.

The product has a “wow factor”, the initial impression the video phone makes on its user when they experience for the first time what it’s like to see the person they’re talking to. In addition, video phones are incredibly easy to use, therefore ensuring users will want to take one home and put it to use long after the excitement has worn off.

The digital phone service, on which the video phone operates, simply runs on your existing Internet connection. To set up a video phone, you simply plug it in to a power source and attach the Internet connection. It’s just that simple. Video phones and digital phone service can be used to call any other type of phones whether traditional, mobile or video. And like a mobile phone, your video phone can accompany you anywhere there’s an Internet connection, so if you have to travel across the country, your video phone can connect you back home to see the ones you love.

It’s futuristic technology, only it’s here now. And if ACN provides any indication of what the future holds for this exciting device, the sky’s the limit. Digital video phones may just be the next wave of technology that truly changes the way we communicate.

Laptop Computers – Upgrade Or Replace?

Laptop computers are great. They offer convenience and flexibility to anyone who depends on a computer for their livelihood. They are also prone to annoying problems like the ones I’ve experienced lately. Here are just a few examples from the ongoing saga of my laptop:

• I had two instances of my Web browser open, along with a couple of other applications. As I ALT-Tabbed between apps, the ALT-Tab window – the one that displays all the open applications for you to move to – froze, front and center, on my screen. As I tried valiantly to work, the little window obstructed my view. When I happened to shut down one instance of my browser, the thing went away.

• I had one thin line on my monitor. It’s like some pixels went missing or something. A few weeks later, another line appeared. If this keeps going, I imagine I’ll lose a good portion of my screen by the end of the year.

• The battery conks out after less than 2 hours.

So, the question I’m left with is: should I upgrade my laptop or replace it?

Upgrading Laptop Computers – Pros and Potential Cons

The main benefit of upgrading is cost. Instead of paying for a brand new machine, I could just by a memory stick for a fraction of the price and hope that solves my problem. Memory is cheap. Refurbished memory is even cheaper. I know because my machine is ancient and, needing to look around for the right kind of memory, I checked a reseller.

For most people, memory upgrades are enough to boost performance, if performance is the real issue.

The potential con of an upgrade is that it may not fix the problem. So I could end up spending money on memory and lots of time trying to figure out how to install it, only to discover that my problem isn’t fixed.

Buying a New Laptop – Pros and Potential Cons

Money is also the main concern with buying a new laptop, but in this case, money is a “con”, not a “pro”. The costs of replacing technology can be significant for any business, big or small. Yes, it would be nice to have a new computer, and one that could actually handle running more than one application at a time, but is it better to take my chances on a memory upgrade? Is a new laptop affordable?

If you are in a similar situation to mine and you want an answer to that last question, here’s some advice. Look closely at your current and future needs. Make sure you consider a laptop that has room for expansion, in case you find yourself in this same situation a few years from now.

Laptop computers come in a wide range of sizes, from tiny netbooks to huge desktop replacements. Take a look at the price ranges for the specs you need. It can’t hurt to take a peek at the secondary market too. Used and refurbished laptop computers work as well as new ones – albeit with fewer bells and whistles due to their age.

Like all technology, laptop computers are a blessing and a curse. They make life easier, but they also make it a lot more expensive. Before you jump into a new purchase for your old laptop, be sure to research the possibility of upgrading. If you decide to buy, do your homework. Study the laptop computers on offer and choose the one that suits your work style and your budget.

The Business Benefits of Speech Technology & Voice Recognition Technology

In business, it is always necessary to try to stay ahead, use new technology and be innovative. Looking for ways to improve service and provide a better experience for your customers comes down to improvements in customer service and more efficiency in operations. You have the ability to make use of new speech to text and voice recognition technology to help you provide top notch service to your clients.

Using Technology

Every industry can benefit from improvements in customer service. New developments in speech to text and voice recognition technology has allowed for businesses to improve their customer service drastically.

Everyone from writers to medical services to call centers can use voice recognition software to provide service that is more fluent. Voice recognition software can also help to reduce costs, increase productivity and reduce stress for both customers and employees.

Benefits to Expect

Voice recognition software allows a business to put employees to better use. Software can handle answering incoming calls and routing calls. It can enable a company to reduce staff and cut training costs. Many tedious job duties related to phone operations can be streamlined and simplified.

Instead of having an employee who answers and routes phone calls, the software can handle the task. This allows that employee to be put to better use elsewhere or the position to be eliminated all together.

For call centers, voice recognition software can free up agents to handle calls that are more complex. Simple calls can be handled through the system where customers can guide themselves to the answers they need.

Speech to text software is perfect for anyone who wants to multitask. It makes it simple to dictate notes or documents verbally to the program that then turns those spoken words into written text. This is perfect for administrators, writers and ideal for those who spend much of the day moving around without time to spend in front of a computer. There are some programs that can be used via a mobile phone, which sends the information back to the computer.

Advances to Appreciate

The advances in voice recognition and text to speech technology have been great. If you have ever used an automated phone system then you can probably agree that these programs are advancing.

In the beginning, voice recognition and text to speech technology had many draw backs. The different accents and ways of saying words could confuse the system. This would lead to frustration on the part of the person using the system. Today’s systems, though, are much more advanced. They are better made to recognize hard to understand accents and alterations in the way people speech. This has reduced frustrations with voice recognition programs and allows them to be more readily used by businesses.

There is no need to be concerned about implementing a voice recognition program in your company. Thee are a range of options and different programs that allow you to find the system that will best suit your needs and allow you to best serve your customers and employees.

Computer Backup Solutions – All Systems Go?

The subject of computer backups has always been a topic of importance when it comes to preserving the data on your computer. These days there are more options available to you in this arena, which can be both a help and a hindrance. On one hand, having more options is helpful because better solutions have been brought to the marketplace from which you can now choose to fit your needs. A hindrance exists in that the multitude of choices might scare off users and cause them to avoid the issue altogether, which can have a disastrous ending.

It does not have to be complicated nor time consuming, so there is no good reason not to tackle backing up your computer.

The Philosophy

We all know that backing up can preserve the information that is stored on your computer, but how far do you take your backup philosophy? It depends on what you can ‘afford’ to lose.

To one computer user, just backing up periodically will suffice. The thought here is that if you lose your data, you can restore it apart from your operating system, and the time that this takes is not a critical consideration. Many home users fall into this category. It makes sense as long as you are not dependent upon your computer for time-sensitive applications and tasks and/or for accessing and retrieving data relative to finances, etc.

To another user this philosophy is not enough. Those who depend on their data and computer for more than just casual personal computing understand that if a hard drive fails, their business is down until they can get it back up and running again. Home users who store irreplaceable photographs and home video on their computers will also fall into this category. A more comprehensive backup plan is recommended to help recover from disasters in a timely fashion.

Computer Backup Options

There are several ways to tackle backups of your important data:

Built-in operating system options. Microsoft Windows operating systems provide built-in back up capabilities that allows you to back up your documents or files onto external media. Beginning with Windows XP and its Automated System Recovery feature, each successive Microsoft desktop operating system includes the capability to help recover your entire hard drive if necessary. These backup solutions are reliable and provide a built-in way for you to back up your data without having to buy an additional program to do so.

Manual copying onto external devices. You can always resort to the old stand-by method of backing up by manually copying your data onto an external hard drive, USB memory stick or other external device such as a recordable CD, DVD or even a floppy drive if you have one. This is cumbersome, but if you do not have a lot of files, it may be an acceptable solution for you. The pitfalls with this method are that if you have multiple files, you have to make sure you get all of them, and you may need numerous target media to save all of your files to.

Online options for backing up over the Internet. The newest option in
computer data backup solutions is provided by online companies that enable backup and restoration of your documents and files over an encrypted high-speed Internet connection to any PC. A small background application backs up and transfers your files to a hosted storage area in a remote datacenter when your computer is idle; however, this is not a comprehensive disaster recovery solution for your entire hard drive. This solution works best when targeted at protecting individual files and documents on a PC or a Mac, and is generally a subscription-based service for which you pay a monthly fee for use.

Making an image of your hard drive. This is a more comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solution generally performed by technically savvy computer users. This option includes using 3rd-party programs to make an image of your entire hard drive, which can then be “re-imaged” in case of catastrophic failure to a new hard drive, providing a hard drive disaster recovery plan. Using this solution, within a short period of time, you can be back up and running with ALL of your documents, settings, programs and EVERYTHING intact, as if the disaster never occurred.

The way to determine the best solution to fit your needs is to ask yourself how soon you need to be back up and running after encountering a disaster, and how much you are willing to pay. If you can wait several days, then a computer back up program might be right for you. If you need your data files immediately, and you have a second computer that you can copy them to, then an online solution might be the best way to go. Or finally, if your business depends upon your computer and its applications and data, then you must have a more comprehensive solution.

The Evolution and Progress of Voice Software

Voice software is an innovative idea, but one that faltered a little upon its inception. The first voice software products had many issues and problems that made them difficult to work with and generally more of a hassle than a solution. During recent years, it has greatly improved and now voice dictation and other voice software products are proving to be a great business solution.

How Voice Software Works

A voice recognition program can take dictation, turning words into text or it can work as an automated phone system, answering and routing incoming calls. That is not it, though, voice programs can enable you to do so much more, benefiting your business, your employees and your customers.

Programs and software can make computers more efficient allowing voice controls of different computer functions. This makes for a hands free option to allow for greater work production. It is a multi-tasker’s dream program.

Basic Features

Voice software must always be trained. The program must be trained to recognize the way different people speak. This training process is an important part of implementing the system, but once trained, the program virtually runs smoothly. Some programs even have features which allow the program to continue learning and have the ability to recognize mistakes and correct them on its own.

Voice dictation requires learning to use the program. These types of programs work best if the user tries to speak naturally when dictating. This suits the program better and reduces error rates. Additionally, a user must learn to insert punctuation, like commas, that the program may not insert. In time, this will become a natural part of the process.

Each program will be different, but some common features included in voice software are command features that allow you to do simple desktop tasks, like closing programs. Some programs will have a feature that scans you’re “My Documents” folder so it can learn frequently used words. This feature will speed up training.

Program Options

One of the top voice programs on the market for voice dictation is Dragon NaturallySpeaking. This program features mistake correction tools and program self training. Another good program is ViaVoice that has a special feature that allows the program to pick up on the way you speak, allowing it to better understand you and simplifying the training process.

When choosing a program you need to focus on your needs. If your main needs are voice dictation then look for a program tailored to dictation. If you need something for customer service or phone operations, then look for that type of program. It is smart to look at demos of the product options so that you can see what program may best suit you.

Voice programs have many uses in business and even personally. People from many different industries, with a range of job titles, find this technology to be something that is beneficial in today’s marketplace. It can completely change how you work and how you do business. For a company integrating this type of program into their operations it can mean a huge savings of time and money. The early programs may have scared some people away, but the changes and advances have made voice recognition technology something usable and beneficial.

8 Tips For Securing Your Home Computer

Security is something that everyone has to stay up with nowadays with all the credit card fraud and identity fraud in the news. There are many things that you can do to help keep your computer and your self safe. Follow these 8 steps and you will be better protected against security threats.

Turn off unnecessary processes

There are alot of programs that run in the background of your computer and some of those programs open up ports that can allow a hacker into your computer. By shutting down these programs that are most of the time unnecessary we can eliminate the amount of ports we have open on a computer.

Install Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware

This one is an absolute necessity for anyone who has a computer that is connected to the internet. An up to date anti-virus anti-malware program can be bought just about anywhere including online. One popular option is Symantec which has a full featured program to cover everything. Some other third party software also works well. Adware Bot and Spy No More - Anti Spyware

Turn on Windows Firewall or install a personal firewall

As was mentioned in tip number 1 we have ports open on our computer that can possibly allow a hacker in. Windows firewall (which comes free with windows) can block these types of ports. You can also purchase a third party firewall program that will help block these ports. There are many third party companies that provide excellent firewall programs. Firewall Gold

Have a router between you and the internet

Some ISP (internet service providers) such as cable allow you to plug into their modem and it gives your computer a public IP address. By installing a router between your ISP modem and your computer you can not only share your internet connection but you are also protecting yourself by not publishing your IP address to the internet.
A simple router is pretty inexpensive depending on the features that you get with it like wireless. Places like Best Buy and Global Computers have these routers.

Disable the computer guest account

The guest account for windows XP Professional is disabled by default but it is always a good idea to check and make sure.

Keep computer up to date with the latest Windows updates and anti-virus definition updates.

Windows workstations need to be constantly update in order to keep them secure. You can go to Windows Updates and get free Microsoft Windows updates.
Virus definition updates need to be purchased from the company

Backup important data

Backuping up data is not really a security item to keep your computer secure but more to keep you secure. Should your computer happen to be hacked or just crash if your data is backed up you will not lose your data.

Only download and install trusted software

One of the most common ways computers get viruses and malware is from software downloaded off of the internet. Certain programs downloaded from unknown sources contain viruses embedded within the program.
The best way to protect yourself against this is to not download software unless it is from a site that is totally trusted.

By following these eight steps you can significantly decrease your risk at being hacked or infected by a virus. The most important thing is to use common sense and you will stay protected.

Resolving Logitech Drivers Conflict the Quick and Easy Way

Logitech is a company that is synonymous with the cutting edge, the entertaining and somewhat of a large contributor to the gaming niche in the computer industry. Their products range from anything in the region of compute peripherals to award winning mice and speakers that are used by top end gamers. Their products are also well designed with a clean, trendy and current look that is very appealing to a majority of its consumers. But of course, like many of the computer products all over the world, there is a problem that afflicts them all - and that is that there are more than just prone to problems and conflicts.

Of course we cannot blame the manufacturer completely; the computing industry is one that evolves at a rate that is sometimes to fast to fathom and when it has that sort of speed in its development, you have the issue that problems and conflicts will always appear within the process. This is because while evolution is universal, the communication channels during that time is quite closed off and this is because of the factor of competition.

While manufacturers are hard at work trying to make things better for the end consumer, we all understand that problems are really very unavoidable and that they will happen a few times in our computing lives. So when you do receive problems with Logitech driver problems, there is no one Logitech method you can apply and as the methods are discussed here, you will notice that they are quite universal and can be applied to almost any other situation.

First of all, you need to check with Logitech of the version of the drivers that you have, because companies like these will always be updating their drivers on a monthly based on continued test and feedback from the community. They also work with OS providers in figuring out the best ways to route around conflict issues and this effort is translated into new and updated drivers.

All you need to do is to go online and get to their website, and you will more than likely find new drivers with a list of issues that have been resolved. If that does not work, then you need to use the resources of the internet, which are search engines, tech sites and forums. By simply describing the problem that you are facing, you will be able to find people with the same issues and their posts on a variety of other related problems.

The moderator or someone with some technical expertise will post either a solution, or an end user who has stumbled upon a way to resolve this would post up his methods and lead you to solving the problem. These methods can be applied to all hardware and software problems, not only Logitech drivers and 75% of the time, they will work. The other 25% is usually attributed to hardware problems and with this, you need to contact the manufacturer to get either a replacement or repair done on the spot.

What to Do When Your Computer Tells You "No Audio Drivers Detected"

Indubitably, one of the main problems when buying a computer is that there is no such thing as a hassle free and perfect life the moment you hit the power switch and wait for the magic to happen. As you know, the human factor very much still plays a part in the makings of a computer, and taking that into consideration against the perfection that is normally attributed to the engineering and manufacturing process, it should be obvious to you that no machine can ever be perfect.

In fact, there is no list long enough or volume big enough to list down the large numbers of errors that the computer can give you, but one of them is the “no audio drivers detected error”. This could soon be followed by the extremely deafening sound of silence no matter what DVD or CD you place in the disk drive. It is quite a bummer when you consider that one of the main uses of a computer system is entertainment, and unless you are proficient in Braille and can read lips, there is no point having a computer when its audio drivers do not work.

The problem can be from several sources, and the first thing you should be doing is to not panic, because it will not do anything remotely positive to aid the problem. In fact, your panic attack might actually worsen the problem as you incessantly thump the keyboard and swear at the computer screen, unnecessarily raising your own blood pressure. What you need to do is to check your drivers, because sometimes manufacturers will absent-mindedly insert either outdated or incompatible or even corrupt drivers.

Check and recheck the drivers, and the general advice is for you to check the website or any tech support forums that might have the correct and latest drivers posted for you to download. These will also be the places where you can check for any compatibility issues because as you know, PC makers and the factor of competition has led to them making hardware which may be incompatible with one another.

This miscommunication and unavoidable facet of the PC world makes it even harder for us, and however much board manufacturers and OS kings try to get rid of the problem, they will always be present to give us a migraine and dash our hopes for a clean install. So look up these sites for solutions to the problem.

If all else fails, it could be a core error with the system itself and to rectify this, you would need to reformat your computer and reinstall everything step by step. A clean install from ground up can help to eliminate some of these problems. If nothing still works, you can then forget about trying to fix it yourself; it’s time for you to lug your PC back to the vendor or to the repair shop, where they will charge you an amount to fix your computer to its former glory.

Audio Problems - 3 Tips on Troubleshooting Realtek Drivers

If you ever encounter a problem with your computer’s audio, one of the first things you should do is check the system bios and see if there is any problem with it. You need to understand that the bios is not a perfect piece of software and it is prone to problems as well. This means that it is prone to problems just like anything else in the computer. What you need to do is to either flash the same bios within the motherboard again or download the latest one from the website of the manufacturer.

All you need to do is to download the new bios and flash it with the instructions given to you in the manual. You should know that each motherboard has a different way of installing new bios. You need to be careful here as you do not want to wipe it out of your system in altogether. Messing it up could mean a painful and complicated move of realigning the jumpers and recalibrating your entire system again.

Also, another thing you can do is to update the Realtek drivers themselves. The drivers that you might be getting from the package might be old and untested with the current configuration of the computer you have now. Understand that technological advancement progresses at an insanely quick rate in today’s world of computing. In order to keep up with the constant evolution of technology, drivers will be updated often because of the changing digital environments.

As new programmes and new software are released, manufacturers often have to test and retest the code of their drivers and then change them accordingly to ensure that there is a high level of compatibility for all consumers. Knowing this, you need to be able to ensure that you have the latest drivers. To do this, you need to find them either online or through third party sources. Of course, the best ways to get them online is from the website of the manufacturer of your choice and just download them into your computer.

Last but not least, you need to be careful when you do install new software or hardware, especially when they are in the multimedia range of goods. Especially when you have an all in one or sound card that you wan tot install, you need to understand that there are certain procedures involved in the process of installing them.

One of them is that you need to deactivate the onboard chip to make sure that the installation goes smoothly and that you can eliminate all possible conflicts. This ensures that the installation process is very smooth and that no other problems might occur at the same time as well.

These are the three ways in which you can ensure that your audio driver issue with Realtek does not cause problems for you. Of course, do note that these are general tips - problems that are way more involved may require a more advanced technical expertise, depending on the severity of the issue.

Missing Video Device Driver - 3 Troubleshooting Tips

Many of us have had this problem and it is really one of the most common problems in the world of computing. The infamous black screen on the computer is one of the most hated sights in the history of the desktop computer, and it leads to plenty of frustration because there could be a whole host of problems associated with it.

Starting up your computer, especially a new one and getting that sickening beep from your monitor often means that it cannot communicate with the CPU. This is soon followed by the familiar non-screen display you will often see in such cases, and depending on your level of anger management, the tearing out of your hair as you try, in vain, to figure it out.

Fret not. This problem may be common, but it is not an overly difficult one to resolve.

If you just purchased your computer and the problem happens shortly after setting up, then the problem may lie in corrupted drivers that have been packaged into the CD provided to you at the time of purchase. The problem is quite simple to solve, and what you need to do is to reinsert the VGA driver until the computer defaults and restart everything once more.

Do not panic at the sight of a fuzzy, 8-bit color display. All you would need to do from there is to reinstall it and voila, you will have solved the problem of the black screen. You might need to do this more than once, but normally a once pass over is more than enough to restore your computer to the 32 bit glory that it should be in. After a little tweaking software side, you will be able to gain maximum clarity.

If this happens when you purchase a new VGA card, then the problem is most likely with the drivers you have, but it might not be an issue of corruption or a bad install. Sometimes, what you are getting in the carrier is not the latest compatible drivers and therein lies the problem. You need to avoid all these conflict issues and driver problems by simply getting the latest version from the manufacturers website and re installing the dang thing. That should solve all your problems right away.

Last but not least, one of the other troubleshooting tips is to ensure that you make full use of the Microsoft Windows Updater, which is one of the most important things to ensure that all possible device driver problems are avoided, not only VGA. This service ensures that your computer system is updated and in the right position to avoid conflicts. Having the best drivers and updated software/hardware makes this a possibility and this is why most techsperts will remind everyone to constantly update their version of Windows - and the best thing about this is that it is free.

3 Common VGA Drivers Problems, 3 Simple Troubleshooting Solutions

There are quite a number of common problems that computer users encounter with their video graphics array (VGA), and the most prevalent of these problems are often due to the VGA drivers. This article will list the top 3 common VGA problems, and 3 simple troubleshooting solutions to resolve them.

Problem one: Your monitor’s power LED seems to flash, but there is no image displayed on screen. This could possibly mean a couple of things, but before you do something stupid like smacking the monitor hoping it will somehow jar it back to life, check to see if the connection to the computer is ok.

Sometimes even when things are all connected there may still be problems. This would most likely mean that there is something wrong with the digital/analogue connection, and you will have to look into the problem. It could be the cable itself, or it could be the port. It could also mean that you may need to have a converter, depending on how old or how new your monitor is. Not everything is a problem with the driver though, and sometimes hardware also plays quite a part in it; so you need to look at this problem from both angles.

The problem could also lie with your graphics card hardware and its drivers. One thing that you need to have is the latest drivers for the graphics card. By doing so, you can figure out the problem with ease, especially if you can eliminate drivers as being the sole cause of the problems.

First things first, make sure that you are able to verify the graphics card compatibility with both your system and the monitor. If there is still an issue with the display, then what you need to do is to get the latest drivers. You can do so by simply going online and visit the manufacturer’s website and download the drivers from there. More often than not, this is enough to solve the problem.

But if it still doesn’t work, do not worry, most of the time, blank unresponsive screens would more than often mean that you have installed a previous, outdated version of the drivers. What you can do is also to use force ware drivers, which are universal drivers for graphics card that activates the chip the same way your manufacturer has designed it. In fact, there is almost no difference when it comes to both drivers, so you can use both.

One thing unique about the display environment of the PC is that there is another set of drivers that come into play, which both facilitates and augments the capabilities of your graphics card and this is called the Direct X technology. This is a technology released by Microsoft, and a lot of the architecture built around the display driver is done so in reference to the versions of Direct X available.

Therefore, it is also crucial for you to have an updated version of Direct X, whose drivers are available on the company website and sometimes comes packaged with new games and new graphics cards that are purchased.

With these 3 common problems and 3 common tips to use, you will be able to route around many of the display driver problems that are plaguing people all over the world.

How Can Computer Network Training Help My Business?

The Information Technologies sector has quickly become one of the largest industries in the business world. Computer programming and network configuration are two of the most popular jobs among college graduates presently, and with good reason. In the last decade, technology has advanced in leaps and bounds, which means that any business will only really benefit from implementing and understanding the latest technologies.

A computer network can only help a business’ bottom line as it reduces, or may even eliminate altogether, latency, increases efficiency and keeps the business connected. A computer network installation requires plenty of planning and foresight, but it is well worth it in the long run. However, the computer network cannot be simply set up and left alone, which is where computer network training comes into the picture.

If a business is to use a computer network, there needs to be a considerable amount of organization involved. Part of computer network training and preparation is to determine how many people will be using the network, how it will be used and the number of people that will use it locally (in the office) and remotely (offsite). It is also important to know how many computers and devices, including peripherals like printers, scanners and servers, will be required for the network in question.

Before there is any consistent computer network training, technology issues and requirements should be discussed. Obviously there will be computers, but what else? Plan out and discuss what is needed in the way of hardware, software, switches, servers, back-up devices, network operating systems and even things as simple as cables. Part of computer network training also involves the preparation and consideration of any required licenses, responsibility requirements, and security measures.

If there is an existing network in place, the technology department (IT Department and network operators) should regularly train on all of its aspects. Regular review sessions should be scheduled, perhaps along with consistent security reviews of the system. If a new computer network is implemented, there should always be sufficient training so that staff can make the transition smoothly.

There is a multitude of ways that staff can undergo computer network training. If the business employs in-house IT staff, an employee specialising in computer network programming may be in charge of keeping everyone informed. There are also classroom opportunities or seminars where an instructor may visit the office to train the staff. Additionally, there is computer based training (CBT) and web based training (WBT) that are very similar to their CD and DVD counterparts. Furthermore, there is no shortage of books and other reference materials.

Regardless of the method chosen for computer network training, it is an essential part of a successful business. Many companies integrate large, intricate networks and must take into account the tightening data protection laws and security measures. Having a staff that is well-versed in computer network issues ranging from design, planning, implementation, security precautions and maintenance, can only help to ensure the overall efficiency, productivity and success of a business.

Efficient Blogging

One of the challenges of blogging is to come up with good posts that interest readers and keep them coming back. Sometimes I do not feel like I have good original wisdom. It is presumptuous to think I can have top quality original material all the time.

A second challenge is the time to blog. I run a $1 Billion dollar company so when I decided to blog I knew I needed to figure out how to do it efficiently. My blog is mostly about efficiency and time management; these are topics I study.

These two challenges can be solved with a simple concept. Copy.

Ideas to use when copying are:

1 – attribution. Give the credit together with the link to the original author.

2 – look for something you can add to. Blogs can be synergistic. Take a concept or part of a blog post and expend on it and give your opinions, insights or views. In many cases, this can start a flow of ideas that are enriched from the original post.

3 – You can use either the whole post or most usually just part of it and point people to the original.

4 – I usually ask for permission which has never been denied. After all copying helps the original author and garners them some readership. And of course never copy copy written material without permission (and most blogs are not copy written).

5 – The simplest place to find material to use to copy is by blog surfing although this can mean a lot of irrelevant material to filter. One source of free articles sorted by topic is www.isnare.com.

6 – In many cases the person you copy from will point a link back to you since it is flattering to them. Charles Caleb Colton said “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” (one trick on quotes is to look them up on www.brainyquote.com). These links to you can increase your traffic.

In summary, copying saves time and increases the quality of material on your site. It can even lead to traffic since in many cases you will get link backs from the original site.

If you do not already have a blog started, there are several websites available that offer free blogging, all that is necessary is that you sign up. There is no fee involved, and it is very simple. Blogger.com is one of the easiest free sites to use, and it has been around for over fifteen years. Once you have registered for the site you will need to set up your profile and templates. Once this is done you are ready to start making money. The first thing that you will need is traffic, and preferably targeted traffic. This means traffic that is interested in what you say on your blog. Make sure your posts reflect your blog interests, and try to respond, not just a two or three word phrase. If your comments are interesting and informative then you will get more targeted traffic.

Signature forum posts are another great way to get targeted traffic to your own blog website. If you already belong to one of these then you simply add your blog URL to your forum signature and then you post some comments. It is important not to spam, and to leave informative or interesting comments. Other members of these forums will want to hear more and they will come to your blog.

Blogging Is Writing - Five Great Tips To Make Money Blogging

Got a blog? Great. Then you know that blogging involves writing, and the more writing you do, the more money you will make blogging. Let's look at five tips to help you to become an expert blogger.

1. The more you write, the more you earn

As a blogger, your primary task is content creation. This is because without content, you won't have traffic, and without traffic, you won't have an income. So content comes first.

However, there are many ways you can create content.

My favorite way is to speak, rather than write. I use a speech recognition program on both my Mac and my PC, to help me to create content more quickly. Although you'll need to train yourself to dictate your thoughts, the time you spend with the program in the first few weeks is amply repaid, because you've got more content on your blog or blogs, and thus more traffic.

2. Plan your blog posts each week and month

Planning your blogging is vital. I teach bloggers, and the first habit I encourage them to acquire is the habit of planning everything they do. Planning your content is vital, because some days you just don't feel like writing.

On these days, your plan gets you blogging, because you know exactly what you're writing about on any given day.

One of my favorite tactics is to create series. Once you've planned a series of posts on a particular topic, writing the series is easy.

A series can be anywhere from three to ten posts long. Here's an idea: create a "30 days" series - this gives you 30 blog posts to plan in advance. Once you've done the planning, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can write the series.

3. Create a network of blogs

One blog, or a network of blogs on the same topic?

Initially, focus on one blog, at least for the first year. Your first, primary blog will build traffic via the search engines, and this foundation of traffic is a real blessing - once you have hundreds of readers each day, you can USE that traffic.

After your first year, I advise that you hive off some of your blog's categories to make new blogs. This is because an enormous blog becomes unwieldy. Posts get buried, and it's hard to give previous posts the attention they deserve.

4. Where's the money? Set income goals for your blog

You must set income goals for your blog. Start small: a dollar a day. Then increase your income goals by ten times as soon as you reach a goal. So your first goal is a dollar a day, then ten dollars a day, then $100 a day, then $1000 a day, and so on.

5. Boost your traffic: the more readers, the higher your blog's income

Finally, as important as writing and content creation in general is, nothing beats marketing your blog. To get more traffic, you need to market your blog. So do it, every day - it's not optional, you MUST market your blog.

So, there you have five tips to help you to make money blogging - use them and prosper.

Is Blogging Right For You?

The answer to that question will be determined to a large degree on how you want to define blogging.

If the interaction on social networking sites like MySpace is accepted as true blogging, then there are millions of Internet users who qualify as social bloggers, and you can answer the question, “Yes, blogging is for everyone.” MySpace alone claims over seventy million users in the US.

But if we were to define blogging from a commercial standpoint, then blogging is clearly not for everyone, and it might not even be for you. Less than 8% of all those who access the Internet have commercial blogs.

While blogging certainly has an entrepreneurial appeal, and those individuals who have small offline business or online websites frequently use blogs as inexpensive promotional tools, but that is not an indication that all entrepreneurs will benefit from having blogs.

There are cases in which a private Internet forum will work better than a public blog is communication between a specific group of people is required.

In other cases, a website, once built, will demand less attention than a blog, and may be a better traffic generator. Many blog owners eventually find themselves short on the time needed to keep their blogs updated and promoted.

In spite of all the potential negatives, there are many, many reasons why blogging might be for you or for everyone. One of the most obvious is that building a blog is simplicity itself, whereas building a website can take weeks or even months and requires a real understanding of HTML coding.

All you need to do to start your own blog is to get a http://Blogger.com or WordPress account, choose your topic, and use the interface to begin your posting. You don’t need to know the first thing about coding, you don’t need to use a template; and you don’t need to find a host, nor understand how to upload your website pages to it.

Is blogging for you or for everyone?

It certainly is not for everyone, as in the instance of blogging commercially, which is reserved for those who use blogs to promote their businesses. But blogging could very well be for you, if you do have a business and want an inexpensive way to get it noticed.

Blogging is certainly inexpensive, as well as quick and easy to begin.

Managed Hosting For Your Web Hosting Needs

Managed hosting is simply a type of internet hosting defined by the client leasing a whole server exclusively and not sharing it with other companies. There are many benefits to this concept with very few draw backs. The other alternative to this is shared hosting, defined as a partitioned arrangement in which two or more companies share a web server and all the associated programs an operating system only separated by ruining in their own separate partitions. Let's gain a little more insight into these two types of servers and see why managed hosting may be the best service for your web based needs.

A Dedicated Service

Managed webhosting, or dedicated hosting service as it is also called, is more flexible than shred hosting. Organisations being hosted have more control over many aspects of both the services and how the server runs. Web hosting companies that offer this can usually also provide add on services such as updating, upgrading, and other maintenance and repair needs. This may also mean less overheard and a lager return on the initial investment and subscription services.

The availability of high bandwidth from the access of high powered servers allocated from high powered networks from multiple providers is one reason why many companies have chosen to use outsourced managed hosting servers.

Due to the included services and maintenance, along with set up and high cost of running, an outsourced managed sever makes more economic sense to companies. This is why dedicated server providers usually include service agreements that include a 100% uptime guarantee.

Another is that they are usually networked across multiple quality uplink providers and this ensures that no matter what, the server will stay online, even if an uplink in the network crashes or fails. Dedicated servers now offer greater bandwidth capabilities than most private owned servers can promise, thus increasing total speed for the server and data transfer.

A Shared Service

Just as its name implies, a shared service is a service shared by companies using a single server and all the same programs even running on a separate platform. This is an economical arrangement for both the host and the client; however, it has some severe draw backs. Being that it is shared, this means that all programs, hardware, and the operating system are set up and picked out by the host for all the companies sharing the server to use.

In addition, if unique software is needed for a particular company, it cannot be allowed.

Another huge drawback is that bots and other malware can easily infiltrate all companies' material on a server and even cause information to leak over.

It's Just a Better Deal

Looking at both types of webhosting, it should be easy to see why managed hosting is a better deal. In addition to greater flexibility and ease of use, managed hosting allows the clients information to be safe from malware and hacks that may come from other companies if they were sharing a server. Additionally, managed hosting provides faster connection and bandwidth speeds, vastly improving data transfer. The nearly 100% guarantee of connectivity and the ability to connect multiple company sites in a managed hosting alone provides justification for the little extra cost.

With the extra service provided by a managed hosting company, it will leave you free to run your business, not your server!

Marketing Your Web Hosting Company On A Shoe String Ideas For The Cash Strapped Web Host

A start up web host cannot dream to be on a level playing field with the giants of the industry when it comes to marketing budgets. You might have the same quality of product but advertising on national television and in broadsheet newspapers is just a pipedream. When you dont have the cash resources to handle heavyweight competitors, you have to be smarter. At the end of the day, whether you have a marketing budget of millions or just a pittance, the end goal is the same. You need to make sure that as many people as possible remember the name of your company and associate it with your product. Sure having money makes your task easier, doing it on a shoe string makes your task more fun!

Because you have a limited budget, haggling on fees is going to become an important part of each purchase process. Whether you are paying for leaflets or buying banner advertisement space, you should never accept the price quoted to you on inquiry. Of course if the supplier refuses to back down then you will be forced to pay the price they ask; however usually it is possible to achieve discounts especially by throwing in a condition where you give the supplier a small percentage or amount of each sale in order to make it more lucrative for them.

When there is a serious lack of funds, bartering your services becomes a viability. The most obvious example is hosts bartering with web designers, exchanging hosting space in return for web design and graphics design work. Its better to do the exchange of services offline as opposed to online. When you deal in an industry where there are hundreds upon thousands of competitors in the same market place with little product differentiation, you need to look into bartering in niche markets. If you need a web design, find someone local, a school art student for example would be an ideal candidate.

Recently there was a forum post about a student who supplemented his income during college by purchasing unsold advertising spaces in magazines and on radio. Near publication time magazines have unsold space that they need to sell off, likewise with radio and television stations that have unsold broadcast time. This student was purchasing the unsold advertising space at knockdown rates and then reselling to companies at cheaper prices than the outlets usual price, making a huge profit on the difference. Theres no reason why you cannot take advantage of this and purchase the space instead. There are websites devoted to this. Just search Google and you will find plenty of them.

Free publicity in the form of a press release has been one angle that many web hosts have taken advantage of recently. The trend has been to submit releases to the two biggest media sources covering the hosting industry are theWhir.com and HostingTech.com. Of course submitting to those outlets might not be addressing the target market you are looking for as a start up hosting company. Services of a similar ilk to pressbox.co.uk which has a greater demographic and of course your local media is more likely to yield a better result.

Getting featured in articles and the media is a great alternative to paid advertising and press releases are universally considered to be the method to get your company name into the media. One of the major problems a lot of hosts will have no doubt is generating a story worthy enough to be featured. A press release doesnt have to be the only method to get into the media. On a local scale, corresponding with your local newspaper is a good way to get into the media at no cost.

The best way to correspond is by writing to the letters page. You can do this by responding to local news events and drafting letters which reflect your companys business interests. Obviously rather than writing under your own name you will be writing under your company name. There is a myriad of issues which can be addressed ranging from the environment to new pieces of legislation. It may take time for this method to produce effective results but you are clearly reinforcing your company name and what you do in the minds of your target audience not to mention creating a positive spin for your business by taking interest in local issues.

Of course there are many more ways in which by spending effectively nothing you can accomplish the same feat as dropping thousands on an advertising campaign. On a personal level, the challenge posed and creativity required to budget a business idea on a shoe string budget is not only stimulating but also rewarding.

Web Hosting - Important Factors In Choosing A Web Host

Web Hosting - Important Factors in Choosing a Web Host

Web hosting, which is the business of providing the storage, connectivity, and services necessary to serve files for a web site, is an important part of operating an online business.

Basically, this is a way of putting your company name on the web. This will allow you to share information, sell products and services, and interact with other people through your site.

Whether it is for an online business or for other applications, like an information resource, a discussion forum, or simply just for sharing views on a hobby or interest, you need to make the best decision when buying or choosing the right web hosting service and solution.

This will not be easy, as trying to choose a web host can be a very confusing exercise, especially since there is a growing number of web hosts in the internet.

Make sure that you go through a research process in choosing the most appropriate web hosting company for your internet presence.

Here are a few things that you need to consider if you would like to generate income for your website, through the use of web hosting.

Determine the Kind of Web Hosting

The first impression of a visitor or a potential customer on your web site is everything.

You need to make sure that you can keep your visitors on your site by making your online business appear as professional as possible.

Make them see a web site that they can trust.

There are many different kinds of web hosts out there, all with varying qualities and equally numerous price points.

Some actually try to justify charging higher than average prices, by offering a vast assortment of extra features, most of which almost no one will use.

By knowing the services that you require, you can shop for them by scrutinizing and reviewing the web hosts you come across, finding the right web hosting provider for your needs.

What to Consider When Choosing a Web Host

The quality of the web host can either make or break your online business, so having reliable web hosting is paramount to your success.

Downtime on your web site can lead to lost sales and decreased productivity.

It is very important to get a good host with great support, especially if you have urgent launches on your web site.

Also, look for unlimited features in all areas when signing up on a plan with the web host service of your choice.

Some of the things that you need to look for are:

- Unlimited Emails
- Unlimited Add-on domains
- Unlimited Database
- Unlimited FTP accounts
- 30 day money back guarantee
- Diskspace (at least 10GB)
- Bandwidth (at least 100GB)

Another factor that matters in an online business is the location of the server.

The lesser hops the server needs to make to reach your computer, the better the web host is.

Less hops to your computer from the server means that the server can connect to the user faster.

Having a larger disk space is also better, especially since you can store more information online and share them with your visitors.

Look for web hosts that will give you more disk space to serve as your virtual drive on your web server.

Bandwidth, which is something that people confuse with disk space, is also important.

It is basically the number of information that you can download from your server.

The bigger your bandwidth, the more people can download the information that you chose to share online.

Is Price a Factor?

Choosing the cheapest web host is not necessarily the best choice for your business, neither is the most expensive, because price offers no conclusive evidence on how well a web host will perform.

It is natural for any business to want affordable web hosting.

However, choosing when to spend on something is difficult to determine, especially if the price is no indication of its reliability.

Budget hosting solutions can be appropriate under certain circumstances.

One of the circumstances is on testing.

You can save some money by going “cheap” if your site is still in development and not quite ready for the public yet.

Once the site is developed, then you should consider getting the best web host that you can afford.

You also do not need to spend too much on non-critical websites, or websites that do not necessarily sell anything.

Also, if your business is seriously strapped for cash, wherein you are truly operating on a shoestring budget, and you think that your funds may be put to better use elsewhere, like for advertising, then inexpensive web hosting is a good option.

Be mindful, however, that availing of a low-quality web hosting service can cause your website to go down.

This can cause you to lost profit and sales on your online business, especially if you are able to drive traffic to your website because of your big marketing campaign.

Choosing the best web hosting service is very crucial in any online business, as your choice of web hosts can either lead to more problems and lost sales on one hand, and the increase of sales and success of your online business on the other.

Make sure that you spend on quality and reliable web hosting to ensure that your online business is protected from downtime that can cause your business valuable clients and profits.

Spyware Solution

Probably Today's Biggest Computer Problem You Suffer Without Knowing Your PC is Infected!
"The effects can be devastating...and very costly"
"Probably the biggest problem PC User's are experiencing right now"

Symptoms

• PC runs very slowly for no apparent reason
• It is difficult to access the Internet
• Bandwidth seems to be reduced
• Unwanted popup ads and often when you are not even surfing the web
• Changed Internet Explorer home page, (known as Hijacking)
• Your PC is slowing down to a crawl.

Why You Should Fear Spyware

Personal information is collected from you without your knowledge or permission. Scary!

Spyware collects information from you on a range of areas, from all the Web sites you visit, to more sensitive information like user names and passwords and even banking details. Personal Information you would never give out if someone asked you for it! Spyware collects it covertly. The primary objective of Spyware is to steal information. Your 'personal' information!

Be aware, some Spyware may run unnoticed without any outward signs of infection. Do not be fooled. It could still mean you have a major problem! Spyware removal is required.

How does Spyware get onto your PC if you don't knowingly download it?

Many PC user's ask this question. The answer is that if you or your teenage children download music from file-sharing programs, free games from certain sites, ring tones or other software programs from unknown sources -you can easily become infected with Spyware!

Spyware uses security holes in the Windows Operating System, and many people are very surprised to hear that infection can occur without any actual conscious actions of your own.
Do not confuse Spyware with virus's. Even if you have a virus checker this will not stop Spyware. It is a totally different threat.

It is annoying. All you probably want to do is surf the internet as simply as possible. The proliferation of threatening attacks to your system make this more and more difficult, unless you have the right set of tools in place to protect yourself.

How Do You Protect Yourself?

The best way to check for infection is to scan your machine with an effective program capable of protecting you. One thing you should be very aware of, are the 'free' programs offering to solve such a problem. Unless they are recommended by a professional source, you should steer clear of such programs. It has been found that many 'free' programs simply add to your problems, by adding more Spyware or other malicious programs to your computer. Even if you have not experienced it, you probably know or have heard of someone that has had their home page hijacked or their web search pages involuntarily redirected.

Recommended solutions? There are a few legitimate programs which actually do what they say they will do. 'Counterspy' is such a program. 'CounterSpy' uses extensive Spyware signature databases, real- time security agents, and ThreatNet to protect your machine from many types of Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, malware, search hijackers, keyloggers, ghost spammers, and spy software. If you do not want to be targeted with offers of goods you don't want and you want to feel secure, knowing your personal information is safe - then CounterSpy is the program you are looking for.

One great benefit of CounterSpy is the real-time agents that monitor your computer 24/7, securing certain key areas. Malicious Spyware authors are dubious and crafty. With CounterSpy you stack the odds in your favour and dramatically reduce the odds of Spyware installing on your machine.

There are no know issues with CounterSpy running with other programs, so you should find it blends in nicely with any existing programs you are running. I work in the PC maintenance and repair field and have found the program works as it says. A good number of other satisfied users that I have referred also rate this program.

The program has a 15 day free trial and a 30 Day Guarantee to ensure you are satisfied with the program. Its excellent value for money at $19 (or approximately £10 ) for one full year, including updates. The price in year 2 is roughly half the original price -so it really is a good deal.

I believe that £10 spent on prevention, is far better than paying out £100 later, if you have a real bad problem this program could have prevented.

Referring back to the guarantee, if you are not satisfied, your money is refunded in full. (Guarantee is provided by the makers of the software). A very good guarantee from an established company, with a quality product. I use the product myself daily. My opinion is that it will help in your fight to keep your computer running in top condition and more importantly, keeping your personal information more secure. You can try out the program for yourself –just go here http://www.gotopchelp.com/web/spyware

Get your self down to doing a little research looking for what features you want for your system and which company can provide you results close to what you are looking for. Also keep an eye on what special feature each company s system is offering that can be beneficial to your business and that you do not find with others because it can give you the upper hand with your competitors. Be also careful to evaluate each company for experience and expertise with proven results that should guarantee an error free system.

Linking remote communities to the so-called communications highway by landline or by any of the available fixed-line systems is simply expensive and financially not viable. The reality of few subscribers in rural areas can dampen every investors enthusiasm.

Notwithstanding the phenomenal growth of cellular-mobile phones that brought tremendous impact to communication, high speed connection to the internet, is very much limited with early generation GSM/CDMA phones and to some extent next generation mobile wireless networks. It would take years for 3G technology to make an impact in remote regions.

In order to catch-up with the ICT bandwagon, fill-in the demand for broadband connectivity and services in un-served areas, an opportunity awaits to be tap by utilizing long-range Wireless LAN (WLAN) and long-range cordless telecom platforms (also called as phone extender) which are fast gaining ground as a reliable, secure and cost-effective alternative to delivering broadband communications services in remote areas.

This articles aims to harness and leverage new emerging Long-Range Wireless LAN technology to compliment existing fixed-line network resources and improve delivery of data communications in remote regions of the world.

Discover how Long-Range Wireless LAN will answer the requirement for a true cost-effective solution internet access in remote regions.

WIFI INDOOR VS OUTDOOR LONG-RANGE WIRELESS LAN PLATFORM:

There are two types of Wireless LAN which is synonymous to short-range and long-range communication: indoor and outdoor.

Indoor type equipment refers to traditional device, as the word suggest, connotes limited transmission coverage within 30-50m and up to 900m when fitted with outdoor antenna. However, being fitted with outdoor antenna does not make them true outdoor equipment. Synchronization and reliable operation are sometimes sacrificed. Indoor-type Wireless LAN equipment are "off-the-shelf", commercially available equipment that can be obtained from computer dealers. It is designed purely for indoor use.

The second type is outdoor long-range Wireless LAN. The difference lies in the design and intended application. Some WLAN manufacturers are concentrating on making outdoor equipment, designing them for maximum transmission coverage while maintaining data throughput.

Outdoor Long-Range Wireless LAN is designed to be robust, resilient, reliable, secure and weatherproof. As "true-outdoor" unit (as oppose to indoor fitted with outdoor antenna), both radio unit and antenna are installed outdoors utilizing Power-over-Ethernet (POE note: power is feed via CAT 5 cable) thus resulting in minimal gain loss because of their shorter antenna cables.

Depending on the radiated power (250mW to 1 watt to 4 watts) and antenna-type (Omni, Flat-Panel, Yagi, Parabolic and Dish) range can reach from 9km to 60km long enough to reach remote areas. Data transmission speed varies though with up to 11Mbps max for 802.11b model with auto-fallback going 5.5 or 2Mbps sacrificing speed/throughput in favor of reliable transmission and up to 54Mbps and 108Mbps (in turbo-mode) for some 802.11g/a model also with auto-fallback.

Outdoor Long-Range Wireless LAN on bridge and point-to-point mode can reach as much as 60Km transmission distance in open terrain (line-of-sight). Truly, Long-Range Wireless LAN is a cost-effective solution for rural internet access.
